Politics in general can cause some tension between friends, even break up a relationship. But still, it's absolutely fine to discuss and even trash talk. It's healthy to dislike someone a little bit if they seem to be "misguided". But there is a line that you should not cross. I like to call this line Political Etiquette. Political etiquette is something that a lot of people, mostly on Facebook, have forgotten. What am I talking about? What is Political etiquette? I'm talking about the dickfaces who are straight forward assholes to anyone who do not agree with their political view point. Now don't confuse this with bash talking the President or presidential candidates. They are fair game. You can call Romney a money hungry idiot, or a sleazy businessman. You can call Obama a failure of a President and even utter a racial slur at him. Sure some people will get offended when someone says something negative about your man Obama/Romney, but when it comes to your fellow country men that's where the line should be drawn. To outwardly say that someone is anti-american because they believe in one or the other candidate is not only bad Political Etiquette, it's ignorant. To call anyone a anti-american, a communist, or a Nazi because they support so and so is just in really bad taste. People believe what they believe. Forget whether it's true or not. It's their opinion and if they choose to believe it it's going to take a lot to convince them otherwise. Trust me. It's also in bad taste to say you are going to move to Canada or Mexico if someone is elected president as if the country is going to end. It won't. It won't end. It's not like Fallout 3 is going to happen. I mean seriously, we survived 8 years of Bush and he didn't do too bad for someone with a speech impediment. The President is surrounded by an asshole full of advisers, regulations, and guidelines that even the stuff they promise to do on "day one" probably won't happen. Like Guantanamo for example. You can blame Obama for that, but he doesn't make the final decision on stuff like that. (Congress I'm looking at you.) The Government works for the people not the other way around. What do you think Checks and Balances are for? They aren't just there to bore you in 5th grade. There are a lot of people on Facebook actively campaigning for a certain party. Which I am 100% okay with, it's just when they start to get personal. That's where the buck should stop. Attacking someones personal integrity is not going to convince someone to vote your way. If anything it's going to create more opposition. Grow up people. We are all Americans. Though thick and thin, through war and economic depression we are all brothers under the same flag. 'Murica. Fuck Yeah! Now go vote you fucking idiot.
